Andrew Burns 25/10/79 - 22/11/04, Apprentice joiner with East Lothian Council. Lived all his life in Port Seton/ Prestonpans. He had a sister Louise and best wee pal and brother Robbie. His devoted Granda Burns, Grannie Co, Aunties Liz and Lesley, cousins James and Leanne and wee Dylan. And best mad pal Lesia.
Andrew was involved in a serious car accident in Oct 1999, that left him severly brain damaged and he spent the last 5 years of his life in Gilmerton Nursing Home. He lived within his own world, having to be fed ,lifted and laid, he was blind and was unable to communicate. The accident took the Andrew we all knew away from us, my prayers were that he was never aware of his past life as he was trapped in an unknown world.
Andrew was a special son who touched so many peoples lifes, before and after the accident, he was ,and still is very much loved. Andrew was a bit of a Jack the lad with a heart of gold. I will miss him forever. Its not right that I visit my son at the cemetry, I should be helping him set up home or baby sitting the grandchild I will now never have. The day he died he set himself free, but left us with a pain that will be with us forever.

Just a little message to let you know you will always be remembered Andrew. I have thought about you often over the years and still can't quite believe you are gone. I knew you all my life and you were always a bit of a cheeky, lovable rogue haha. Many happy memories! Hope you are happy where you are Andrew. See you again some day. xxx

peace out bro!

Andrew is my brother, he was a pain in the neck, he tormented me for 16 years, played jokes on me, scared me to death at night when we shared a room, stabbed me in the hand with a crowbar while we were making a gang hut, shot me in the leg with a homemade bow and arrow while trying to make me dance, chased me, locked me in cupboards, put hair gel on my toothbrush and told me it was colgate, scared all my boyfriends away and never failed to come up with a smart ass comment about my ears......BUT........ andrew was the best brother in the world, i wouldn't have missed a second of it and i'd let him do it all again if i got the chance!
i love you andrew, i hope your happy with what we're all up too now!
you've no doubt got all the girls running after you wherever you are now too so enjoy it ha ha!!!!!
i'd send you a big kiss but you'd only run a mile ha ha so i'm sending you a wee wave and lots of love instead...... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

gone but never forgotten

Andrew's mum is my best friend . I first saw Andrew at 1 day old . I last saw him after he had left us and together his mum and I said goodbye to Andrew . He was tall blonde and handsome very much like Robbie his wee brother . After the accident it was a different Andrew . The Andrew we had all known had left us . I watched him grow up , from a baby to a toddler to a teenager .He had his moments but throughout everything he had 1 constant in his life . His MUM.He loved his mum more than anyone else in the world and I know he's watching her from heaven . God Bless .
